New Car

James Watt Automotive is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new Porsche 997 GT3 RSR to the stable. The car a development of the 996 is wider, more aerodynamic and more powerful. The old 996 car we raced in 2006 although winning the majority of the LMS races and the overall championship, have been on the back foot when it comes to outright pace. The new 997 should see Porsche firmly back on a par with the GT2 class opposition of Ferraris, Panoz and Spykers.

Events

The Le Mans 24 hour race is possibly the worlds most famous motor sport event. James Watt Automotive has every intention of being there in 2007. A huge logistical exercise that ends in a flat out race for 24 hours leaving competitors and spectators alike breathless.

Drivers

Le Mans experienced car owner Paul Daniels is set to lead the line up for the 2007 campaign. We are also very pleased to announce that we have secured the services of the very quick and experienced Dave Cox. Dave will add pace and consistency for all the LMS events. We are in discussion with a number of other drivers and hope to announce a full line up very shortly. We have a very interesting line up confirmed for Le Mans 24 Hours but more of that in subsequent newsletters.

History

In the mid seventies a number of iconic elements developed together that made an impression on thousands of people. Firstly the Porsche 917 a car that initially was hated by all who drove it became a piece of Le Mans History as year after year the car won the 24 hours. The second icon of that era was JWA – in the 70s John Wyer Automotive who masterminded and engineered those victories. Can history repeat itself? JWA as James Watt Automotive return to Le Mans with a Porsche not in search of outright victory – that comes later - but a class win in the most populous and competitive class has to be the objective.
