Newsletter June 2007 Issue number 4

With the eyes of the GT racing world firmly focussed on the Le Mans 24 Hours here an update from one of those unlucky teams who were not selected. We will try again for 2008!

Third Driver confirmed and a Tyre deal

After the superb showing at Monza JWA are very pleased to announce that Joel Camathias will join the JWA driver line up for the balance of the LMS season – Spa in Belgium, Silverstone and Interlagos, Brazil. Joel is the reigning 2006 LMS GT2 champion and will certainly strengthen the driver line up. His experience and desire to do well will bring dividends. Joel Camathias also brings with him a Pirelli development tyre deal putting JWA alongside the works GT2 Porsche of Marc Lieb and Xavier Pompidou. JWA Team principal James Watt commented

“After our great run in Monza we are virtually guaranteed championship points at each event and with the benefit of Pirelli tyres if the luck breaks our way then podium places are a real possibility”.

Spa 24 Hours confirmed

JWA are also very pleased to announce that their Spa entry has been confirmed. The race in the Ardennes Mountains of Belgium will be on 28th and 29th July 2007. This will be the first 24 hour race for JWA since running a pair of Group N Honda Civics at the Nurburgring 24 hours in 1991. Joel will be joining the regular drivers Paul Daniels and Dave Cox. JWA are also in contact with a fourth driver who is one of the quickest competitors currently in British GT. Sorry no names but as ever more soon.

Monza Test – you too if you wish

The new association with Pirelli brings an instant benefit with JWA being invited to test at Monza immediately prior to the LMS Nurburgring 1000kms at the end of June. The two day tyre test on 25th and 26th June will allow all the drivers and team to get acquainted with the new Pirelli product. We will also be running last years 996 RSR for a couple of drivers with a view to drives later in the season and/or next year. So if you have the desire and the requisite budget then get in touch and you too could be hammering around the history laden Monza Autodrome on the outskirts of Milan.

Team shirts for sale

JWA have finalised a deal with sports wear specialist for the provision of team kit. A stunning range of waterproof jackets, sweat tops and casual shirts incorporating the JWA striping first seen at Monza, have been penned by the Kukri designers.

The shirt as designed by Kukri

For the first time ever these high quality, superbly made and beautifully detailed articles will be available to the cognoscenti. The JWA LMS car is number 95, so the team will all have team liveried number 95 shirts. The remaining numbers 00 to 99 will then be sold to interested parties – so those of you who need to have a particular number must be quick on the uptake and make us an offer before they all go. They are manufactured in super hard wearing cotton polyester and will cost a minimum of £35.00 or €50.00 inc VAT. The bidding for shirt 69 remains fierce! The deal will see team kit being supplied and Kukri logos being run on the car for the remainder of the season. With the motor sport team kit market being huge we hope that Kukri will be able to pick up more and more customers over the year once the quality and value become apparent.
